mental health greeting cards

“Bad-Ass Greeting Cards” was a collection I designed in an effort to encourage young people to use and trade greeting cards while also destigmatizing mental health. The front designs of the cards display a variety of encouraging mantras, from “you deserve a nap” to “take the plunge.” These sayings hit on several mental health topics that all people face, such as burnout, anxiety, stress, healing, and self-confidence. Although aesthetically targeted toward young college populations, these greeting cards are meant to cheer anyone up and give them actionable solutions to their anxieties.

The big takeaway of these cards is found on the inside, which contains an array of grounding techniques and anxiety management that people can use in moments of distress. These cards are not only pick-me-ups for your friends and family, but also reminders of coping techniques that are recommended by therapists to see actual positive results in your mental health.

The aesthetic of these cards is bright, bold, and confident. The colors are meant to draw attention, and the playful whimsical type draws the eye in. These card designs have a mascot of sorts, who is playful yet familiar. They are humanistic while being stripped of human features, such as gender, race, age, etc., making them relatable and approachable to anyone. The designs exhibited on the front of the cards encourage the receiver to keep and collect these cards as reminders to live brighter, more confident days ahead, along with the help of the mental health coping strategies inside.
