2023 instazine

Every Spring Semester, Matchbook Marketing establishes a team for the annual “Instazine,” a digital and print zine for students to express and illustrate aspects of being a young creative professional. The 2023 Instazine was entitled Metamorphosis, illustrating a raw behind-the-scenes look of the creative process.

I designed parts of the digital posts and print forms alongside Maggie McCloud, another talented designer from the Journalism School at Mizzou. Together we formed the branding, aesthetic, assets, illustrations, and layouts based on the photoshoot content and ideations of the Editor and Chief, as well as the stories written by the brilliant copywriters. I really loved this project, and it was a fantastic opportunity for collaboration across different disciplines within the university. It taught me so much about working with others, and it pushed me out of my School of Visual Studies bubble, revealing the expansive world of young creatives in Columbia.

What is Matchbook Marketing?

Matchbook Marketing is a student-run agency that creates unique and artistic work for clients of all sizes, purposes and industries. Our mission is two-fold: spark creativity in companies and ignite passion within students.

We provide our clients with a direct look into what Gen Z seeks in brands, helping them reach that audience in a way that is creative, honest and authentic. In doing so, we provide our staff with the opportunity to apply the skills they learn in the classroom to real-world experiences in the advertising industry.
